Larian Studios advised players to uninstall the Early Access version, along with any save files and mods, and perform a clean installation of the full version to ensure a smooth experience. Even IGN, during their own download of the game, is experiencing a delay.Īlthough Baldur’s Gate 3 had been available in Early Access on Steam since October 2020, the full version was not available for pre-download. Some users were met with an empty progress bar that displayed the message “Busy,” indicating that the download could not be initiated.

Larian Studios’ founder and CEO, Swen Vincke, shared a screenshot of user-reported problems on Steam, apologizing for the inconvenience. As preloading wasn’t an option, Steam experienced some technical issues when players rushed to download the game.
